Our Privacy policy is designed to protect our customers privacy and personal information. We respect the privacy of users of the Geocharts.com service and we have created this privacy policy to keep our users informed regarding what information we collect on visitors to our site and how that information may be used. During Beta testing we collect a minimal amount of information from our users during sign-up.  The only personally identifiable information collected by us is the users First Name and Email Address.  This information is used for the express purpose of keeping in touch with our users via email.  We also collect aggregate information such as which pages of our site a user visits and how a user may have found our website.  This information constitutes industry accepted standards and is similar to the statistics that almost any website you visit is able to collect during your visit.  We use these statistics for the improvement and betterment of the Geocharts.com service.

We will not sell, give-away, trade, or make your information available in any way to 3rd parties without your express permission except where necessary for the fundamental security, lawfulness and integrity of our network or for the imminent sale or merger of the Geocharts.com service.  In the latter case notice to customers will be provided before any information changes hands and becomes subject to a different privacy policy. 

We may from time to time poll our users for the purposes of improving or promoting the Geocharts.com services.  Such polls are completely optional and the results are used in an aggregate format only. 

 

Cookies:
A cookie is a small string of data that is placed on your computer when you visit certain websites.  This data often includes a unique identifier that maintains the users anonymity but helps us track a users session. Geocharts.com uses cookies for the purpose of tracking a visitors usage of the Geocharts.com websiteand in some cases to track which visitors to your poll have already placed a vote. We may also use cookies to see how visitors are using our site.  We do not use cookies for any other purpose and we store cookie information only temporarily.  Users may opt out of having a cookie placed on their computer by disabling cookies from their browsers preference.  Please be aware some Geocharts.com service will not work without cookies.
